Leupold’s new web page

Friday, May 25th, 2007

Well, after months of delays, Leupold finally got their new web page up. It looks nice, though there are occasional mishaps and slowdowns, but they do have data on the new scopes up, though it is incomplete, like no images on the Mark 2 series yet. Oh well, with due time they should get it all sorted out. But like I said, it is pretty to look at.

XM110 Finally making it to units…

Wednesday, May 2nd, 2007

Well, after much controversy, lawsuits and other stumbling blocks, the US Army’s XM110 Semi-Automatic Sniping System (SASS) is making it into soldiers hands on a larger scale. They have actually had limited numbers of them in combat zones for a number of months now but the official news of them being used is now out there. Many of the details about exact quantities and which units will be getting them or have them are still sketchy, as are the results of the various lawsuits, but hopefully they will be resolved at some point. For the time being the SASS appears to be a supplemental rifle to the M24 SWS and not a replacement.
